Al Sharpton Wants Michael Jackson Commemorative Stamp

"The Rev. Al Sharpton, who will speak this morning at the First AME Church in Los Angeles, is calling on the U.S. Postal Service to issue a stamp in honor of Michael Jackson.
But getting a Jackson stamp could be difficult. According to the New York Daily News, the U.S. Postal Service usually considers memorial stamp requests five years after the subject's death." Shelby Grad/LA Times Blogs
A Michael Jackson commemorative stamp is an excellent idea, and the US Postal Service should waive its five years rule for an individual of the magnitude of the King of Pop.
Michael Jackson is a national treasure, and he deserves this national honor reserved for people who have left an indelible mark on history.
In this day of instant communications via email, tweet and instant message, the Postal Service is losing a lot of money. A Michael Jackson stamp would bring in millions of dollars of revenue for the beleaguered Postal Service.
It's unfortunate that a buffoon like the Rev. Al Sharpton is advocating on the behalf of Michael Jackson. I don't trust the snake oil salesman, and even if Sharpton was calling for a stamp to honor Jesus Christ, I would suspect he has something up his sleeve.
I hope that prominent individuals with more integrity than Sharpton take up the cause to honor Michael Jackson with a stamp.
