Two Militants, Soldier Killed in Kashmir Gunfight

Srinagar, July 4: Two militants and an Indian soldier were killed in a gunfight in a North Kashmir forest area on Saturday.
A police official said Indian army and police men laid siege around Wadderbala forest area, some 90 kms North of summer capital Srinagar, to flush out militants hiding in the area. "During the combing operation, the militants fired from automatic weapons towards the soldiers. In the initial gunfight on July 3, a militant was killed," he said.
The gunfight again resumed on July 4, when a militant of Pakistan based militant group Albadar and an Indian soldier were killed. Another soldier was critically injured.
The combing operation in the area is continuing. "We have information that about six militants were hiding in the area," he said.
Another police officer said that they received information that three militants escaped from the area.
