PetSmart Appoints Dickinson to General Counsel Post

PHOENIX, AZ - (Marketwire - July 01, 2009) - PetSmart (NASDAQ: PETM) has named Emily Dickinson to the position of senior vice president, general counsel and secretary. Dickinson succeeds Scott Crozier, who retired from the post in April.

"Emily is a smart, visionary leader with the perfect blend of retail experience and broad legal expertise," said Bob Moran, PetSmart's president and CEO. "She has proven results in managing strategy, corporate governance and corporate filings, litigation, government relations and regulatory compliance."

Dickinson spent 18 years with Hannaford Bros. Co., eight of which were also with Delhaize Group, a Belgian-based food retailer with more than 2,600 stores and approximately 136,000 employees. In the United States, Delhaize primarily operates the Hannaford Bros., Food Lion and Sweetbay stores. While there, she had dual responsibility as vice president - Legal on a global basis for Delhaize and senior vice president, general counsel and secretary for Hannaford Bros. Prior to that, she was an attorney in Boston and with two Portland, Maine law firms. Dickinson is a pet parent to a yellow lab named Maggie, a cat named Pumpkin, and Greenback, a red-eared slider turtle.
