Database Software Innovator, Prometheus Research, Adds Two New Executives to Growing Team

NEW HAVEN, Conn. , July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Prometheus Research, an innovator in database software, has hired two executives to its growing ranks, Andrzej Pienczykowski as Executive Vice President - Product Strategy, and Julia Ridgely as Principal Solutions Engineer, both new positions.

Pienczykowski, with over 20 years experience in technology solutions, is responsible for developing product and professional services strategies for Prometheus Research. In 2008, he helped the company formulate strategic product, sales, and marketing plans. Prior to Prometheus, Pienczykowski was Chief Technology Officer at CERTPOINT Systems,Roslyn Heights, New York, responsible for managing e-learning technology products, product roadmap planning, software engineering processes, technical delivery of services, and technology infrastructure planning.

Ridgely, as Principal Solutions Engineer, is responsible for creating customer solutions, programs, and services for the company's HTSQL software products. Most recently, she was a product manager at GridPoint,Arlington, Va., a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer and winner of many clean technology awards. There, she managed the product platform for GridPoint's distributed energy management solution.

Prometheus HTSQL is a database software product that quickly translates the language of the web (HTTP) into the language of databases (SQL), allowing businesses and organizations to securely increase their organizational intelligence through dynamic, real-time, collaborative, web-based database management.

In other posts, Pienczykowski was Vice President of Information Technology at Health Direct,Farmington, Conn., in charge of Applications Development, Technology Operations, and Infrastructure.

Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Technology and CTO, at SKILA, INC.,Mahwah, N.J., where he was head of the technology department including software development and infrastructure, and development and deployment of a web platform (Skila iWorksite (TM)) that delivers business intelligence products to healthcare companies over the Internet. From 1993 to 2000, he worked for technology research analyst firm, Gartner Group,Stamford, Conn., as Vice President, Applications Development, where he was instrumental in turning the publicly traded firm's research delivery from paper to electronic. He has a M.S. degree in Mathematical Physics from Maria Curie-Sklodowska University. He resides inNorwalk, Conn.

Ridgely, prior to her work at GridPoint, was Government Technology Evangelist for Macromedia (now Adobe Systems), where she promoted the use of technologies like Flash and ColdFusion through public speaking and training engagements at the federal and local level.

A web technologist since 1995, she participated in many Internet firsts, including managing Proxicom's implementation team for marketplaceMCI, the first transaction-enabled website and first commercial deployment of the Netscape Commerce Server for clients like Major League Baseball and Radisson Hotels. She headed the professional services and support group for Proxicom's Community Suite, one of the first Java-based products and social software of choice for Fox Broadcasting, Cox Interactive Media, and Disney. In other positions, she was senior sales engineer for Andromedia, a web analysis software and personalization software company acquired by Macromedia in 1999, and served as senior solutions engineer for Octopus, an early "mashup" software company.

While at GridPoint, she provided product direction for the GridPoint SmartGrid Platform, a network-based hardware and software solution for demand management and renewable energy integration.

A frequent public speaker, Ridgely is active inWashington, D.C.-area technology groups, including Women in Technology. A seasoned writer and editor, she has worked on award-winning publications and has a B.A., English, from Barnard College of Columbia University; and an M.S., Journalism degree from the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism. She resides inRockville, Md.
