Scholarship America(R) Recognizes Select Dollars for Scholars(R) Volunteers with National Award
MINNEAPOLIS , July 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Scholarship America honored five Dollars for Scholars volunteers during fiscal year 2009 by presenting them each with the National Honor Roll award, which recognizes volunteers who are instrumental in successfully guiding the course of their local chapter in a significant and beneficial way.
Marie Landino from Woburn High School Scholarship Fund inWoburn, Mass. was selected to receive the Award in September 2008. Susan Nocella, Margaret Gagnon, and Lynn Ebrecht, also from Woburn High School Scholarship Fund, as well as Joan Bonsignore from Island Trees Dollars for Scholars inLevittown, NY, received the award in June 2009.
Scholarship America's Board of Trustees reviews and approves the nominees three times a year at each Board meeting. In order to be eligible for the award, a nominee must exhibit commitment to the mission of Dollars for Scholars and have more than three years of active participation with their local Dollars for Scholars chapter at a consistently high level.
The award provides both national and local recognition to outstanding chapter volunteers, who are featured in Scholarship America's annual report and recognized through a special personalized award plaque and Dollars for Scholars logo pin.
