LP Building Products Announces United Kingdom Launch of LP(R) SolidStart(TM) Engineered Wood Products Offering

The LP SolidStart family, which includes Laminated Strand Lumber (LSL), Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL), I-Joists and Rim Board, delivers real advantages in terms of quality, consistency, durability, strength and ease of installation. Because these products are available in longer lengths than traditional timber, they offer greater design flexibility, faster installation and less waste. What's more, they're created to work together to form an unbeatable building system.

LP SolidStart EWP has a broad range of certifications, including the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC(TM)) and the Sustainable Forest Industry (SFI(R)) Chain of Custody featuring BBA Agrement and BM TRADA Q-Mark product approvals, plus the International Fire Consultants, Ltd. (IFC) fire assessment.

The following products are now available for UK distribution:

    --  LP(R) SolidStart(TM) Rim Board has a high vertical load capacity that
        suits it perfectly for multi-storey applications, and it features
        weather-resistant coating on all six faces, making it ideal for
        construction in the harsh UK climate. Additionally, LP SolidStart Rim
        Board comes in long lengths and is available in a variety of depths,
        metric or imperial.

    --  LP(R) SolidStart(TM) LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) features
        weather-resistant coating on 6 faces for improved water-shedding
        capabilities. Available in thicknesses up to 178 mm for one-piece end
        sections, it eliminates nailing or bolting multiple pieces together and
        is uniform and lightweight at only 573 kg/m3, which makes for safer and
        easier handling.

    --  LP(R) SolidStart(TM) I-Joists come in pre-cut stock lengths, and 38 mm
        knockouts are available without a price premium. LP SolidStart I-Joists
        come in two simple series with 63 mm and 89 mm flanges for improved
        performance, plus a new 225 mm depth to perfectly match UK block work
        and EU Glu-lam beams.

    --  LP(R) SolidStart(TM) Software estimating and design software is
        available free for LP dealers. LP SolidStart EWP products are included
        in the MiTek(R) WoodEngine(R) version, which also offers complete UK
        layout.
