WinCo Foods Voluntarily Recalls Beef and Ground Beef Sold at Some Stores Between May 9 and May 15, 2009 Due to Possible Contamination

BOISE, Idaho , June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- WinCo Foods , LLC announced today that it is voluntarily recalling some beef and ground beef items sold at some of its stores between May 9th and May 15th. This action is prompted by the expanded recall of beef products by the JBS Swift Beef Company, which yesterday voluntarily expanded its previously announced recall of beef products that could potentially be contaminated with E. coli 0157:H7 to approximately 380,000 pounds of assorted beef primal products.

Of the recalled 380,000 pounds, WinCo Foods received only 4 cases of beef (approximately 200 pounds) which were then shipped to one or more of the following WinCo Foods store locations for further processing and sale to the public:

          Store #1, Boise, Idaho, 110 E. Myrtle St.
          Store #5, Pocatello, Idaho, 1000 Pocatello Creek Rd.
          Store #6, Boise, Idaho, 8200 Fairview Ave.
          Store #8, Marysville, Washington, 3947 116th Street N.E.
          Store #9, Happy Valley, Oregon, 11250 S.E. 82nd Ave.
          Store #11, Nampa, Idaho, 2020 Caldwell Blvd.
          Store #13, Portland, Oregon, 1222 N.E. 102nd Ave.
          Store #15, Portland, Oregon, 1950 N.E. 122nd Ave.
          Store #16, Puyallup, Washington, 9518 176th Street E.
          Store #18, Salem, Oregon, 1240 Lancaster Dr. S.E.
          Store #20, Salem, Oregon, 4575 S.E. Commercial
          Store #22, Vancouver, Washington, 9700 N.E. Hwy 99
          Store #23, Tigard, Oregon, 7501 Dartmouth St.
          Store #30, Twin Falls, Idaho, 1569 Blue Lakes Blvd. N.
          Store #39, Eugene, Oregon, 4275 Barger Dr.
          Store #40, Hillsboro, Oregon, 7330 N.E. Butler St.
          Store #41, McMinnville, Oregon, 2585 N.E. Hwy 99 W.

If a customer purchased any boneless bottom round roast, steak, or carne asada item with a code date on the label between May 11th and May 15th or any ground beef item with a code date on the label between May 9th and May 13th, they are encouraged to either destroy the item or bring it back to the store for a refund or exchange. Only these limited items are involved and only if sold at one of the WinCo Foods stores listed above with code dates within the range of dates listed.
