Cadec Recognized as Top Innovator by Supply & Demand Chain Executive Magazine

Fleet Management Vendor Named to "2009 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100" List

Cadec Global, a leading provider of advanced fleet management solutions, announced today that Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine has named Cadec to its "2009 Supply & Demand Chain Executive 100" list of the industry's most innovative vendors.

Eight years ago, Supply & Demand Chain Executive announced its first "100" list of supply chain solution providers, consultants and other organizations that were helping lead the way in transforming companies' supply and demand chains. This year the magazine focused the criteria for its "100" feature on economic recovery.

The current economy is forcing trucking fleets to be leaner and more efficient than ever. Cadec provides advanced fleet management software and hardware that automatically collects data on driver behavior and vehicle location/speed in order to optimize fleet performance, maximize safety and improve supply chain visibility.

Cadec helps extend a company's supply chain into the cabs of its trucks by:

--  Providing drivers with delivery and route information;
-- Enabling them to scan pallets and collect delivery signatures
    electronically;
-- Allowing them to generate invoices on the spot in order to speed
    payment cycles; and
-- Automatically sending delivery confirmations and inventory updates
    back to the yard.

In the past, all of these processes were paper-based. Drivers and fleet managers often spent hours each day filling out paper forms, which then had to be keyed into computerized systems at the end of each day. Automating these processes via Cadec enables fleets to not only save considerable time and expense, but also to benefit from having the information available in near real-time so they can make more informed business decisions. Hundreds of companies across North America, including Chevron, Poland Spring and Publix Supermarkets have turned to Cadec for fleet management.

"Advanced fleet management is a prime example of how relatively small technology investments can reap big benefits in the supply chain," said Andrew K. Reese, editor of Supply & Demand Chain Executive. "We were particularly impressed by the customer examples cited in Cadec's award application, which show that fleet management solutions can have a major impact on both efficiency and safety."

Fleet management is the 'final frontier' of a trucking company's supply chain

Michael Baney, CEO of Cadec, noted that the most forward-looking trucking fleets are considering fleet management solutions as an extension of their supply chain, rather than as a standalone technology. "Fleet management is much more powerful, and the rewards much higher, when it is integrated with the rest of the supply and demand chain," said Baney. "In effect, our customers are extending the supply chain from their back office all the way to their drivers, who are on the front lines with customers. Fleet management is the final frontier of a trucking company's supply chain."

All of this year's winners are featured in the cover story of the June/July 2009 issue of Supply & Demand Chain Executive, as well as online at www.SDCExec.com/SDCE100.
