Berglass + Associates Expands Star Search Program into E-Commerce

NEW YORK - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Berglass + Associates, an executive search firm that specializes in the retail and consumer goods industries, today announced the expansion of its Star Search program into the e-commerce channel. The new service is designed to unearth leadership talent to meet the demands of the rapidly changing online marketplace.

Through the expansion of this unique search platform, Berglass + Associate will help companies identify the best C-level e-commerce executives. The extended Star Search platform will provide ongoing introductions between top management and e-commerce management talent.

"As more retailers recognize e-commerce as an important catalyst for growth and pure play e-commerce companies need access to more sophisticated leadership, the Star Search e-commerce program will be instrumental in identifying tomorrow's leaders," said Les Berglass, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Berglass + Associates.

"Because this channel of distribution is still relatively new, most retailers do not know where to look for talent, nor do they have experience in assessing e-commerce leadership," continued Berglass. "Our new Star Search service is intended to address these challenges among retailers."

Launched in 1993, the Star Search program was created to build an ongoing dialogue between upper management and top talent. It enables companies to fulfill their staffing requirements before they become critical. The platform has been used by companies such as The Limited and American Eagle Outfitters.

"Some of our best talent has joined the ranks of American Eagle as a result of Star Search, and we look forward to discovering the gems of e-commerce through this extended platform," said Tom DiDonato, Executive Vice President of Human Resources at American Eagle Outfitters.

Star Search's expansion into e-commerce is designed to meet the needs of pure play e-commerce businesses, brick and mortar retailers, and private equity firms looking to increase the value of their consumer goods industry investments.
