The Jammu and Kashmire Panthers Party described a ban by the Union Government on the CPI-Maoist group as highly desirable in the interest of nation's security, integrity and sovereignty.
The Maoists were engaging in mindless violence against innocent citizens in the name of politics.

The Panthers Party Chairman Prof. Bhim Singh addressed a meeting at party headquarters at 96-Raj Bagh, Srinagar yesterday. He urged the Prime Minister to convene a meeting of the National Integration Council to raise a consensus for appropriate action against all kinds of terrorism in the country. The Panthers Party Chairman also suggested that all political parties supporting any terrorist organization should be banned and their recognition by Election Commission should also be withdrawn forthwith.

Prof. Bhim Singh during his 3 days stay in the Kashmir Valley met several delegations including a delegation from Shopian, Kupwara and Pahalgam. Residents of Pahalgam demanded the clearance of Pahalgam-Shri Amarnath route so that thousands of polywallas and other labour class people could get their work. People of Shopian asked Prof. Bhim Singh to take the Shopian Rape-Murder case to the Supreme Court so the culprits are brought to justice.

Prof. Bhim Singh praised the people of Kashmir in general and Shopian in particular for demonstrating the highest form of tolerance by preserving communal harmony in the most distressing situation during the people's anger against the rape and murder of two innocent girls in Shopian. Condemning the police for not allowing Prof. Bhim Singh and the Panthers Party team to visit the victims' family at Bongam, Shopian to express their condolences.

A daring team comprising of Shri Farooq Ahmed Dar (Provincial President), Shri Manzoor Ahmad Naik (Provincial General Secretary), Shri K.S. Bedi (Provincial Vice President) and Shri H.S. Jamwal (Senior Leader) visited yesterday, though the administration did not allow them to visit the victims family which strengthens the doubt about the claim of Chief Minister that the government is sincere to bring the culprits to justice.

Prof. Bhim Singh said that the interim report of Justice Jan Commission has established the doubts of the people that some big fish is involved in the murder and the Chief Minister is trying to 'hush up' the issue. He said that suspension of five small fish is only an attempt to divert the attention of the aggrieved public. Prof. Bhim Singh left for Delhi to apprise the Prime Minister of India about the whole situation.
