Entuity Storms Mid-market with New Network Management Software
MARLBOROUGH, Mass. & LONDON - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Entuity
News Facts
-
Entuity,
a leading provider of network
management solutions, today announced Eye of the Storm Network
Professional Edition (EYE NPE), a network management solution that
defines a new category along the management price/performance
continuum - enterprise functionality at a price point previously
reserved for workgroup class tools struggling to scale and support SME
network needs. The newest member of Entuity's software family delivers
revolutionary technology for the mid-market on three fronts:
automation, accuracy, and deep functionality for management to
cost-effectively keep dynamic and contemporary networks optimally
performing.
-
A lack of real-time insight can often lead to wasted time and effort
chasing 'ghosts' or failure to take corrective action. EYE NPE greatly
improves operations by automatically surveying the network in real
time; updating maps, topology, inventory details, and forensics to
allow instant, accurate, and real insight into the status of the
network without manual loading of device lists.
-
Networks are not simply "on" or "off." EYE NPE delivers optimal
network performance by going beyond the "red light/green light"
signaling that qualifies the typical low-priced network management
tools. EYE NPE provides an intelligent view of object connectivity,
root cause analysis, and a broad range of configurable thresholds
allowing users to pinpoint where problems occur and quickly take
action.
-
Unlike the device-centric approach of other commercially available
solutions, EYE NPE includes user configurable views which represent
any logical collection of devices or segmentation of the network.
Views represent a higher abstraction of the network - a business unit,
a building, a particular floor, a department, or the devices assigned
to particular operations personnel - then EYE NPE collects and reports
operational metrics matching specified business processes. Built in
reports with a versatile scheduler in a range of business-ready
formats are also available to automate reporting and distribution.
-
Built from Entuity's enterprise class event engine and database that
support 85,000 managed objects per server, EYE NPE effortlessly
supports up to 7,500 managed objects on a single server and combines
proven features of the best network management tools on the market.
The product is priced at $22,500.
-
EYE NPE will be available June 26, and runs on Microsoft Windows
Server operating systems, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and VMWare ESX
Server. Entuity is actively seeking global channel partners who are
looking to complement their current framework or elemental tools
offerings with scalable, easy-to-deploy management solutions. For more

Supporting Quotes

Quote, attributed to Steve Thompson, Vice President of Information
Services, Pacific Crest Securities - a beta tester of EYE Network
Professional Edition
"Given its broad functionality, EYE NPE
is obviously a solution with an enterprise heritage, yet it is
remarkably quick and intuitive to set up, the interface is very clean
and fast, and the product is easy to use."
-
Quote, attributed to Jim Frey, Senior Analyst, Enterprise
Management Associates
"The mid-market is traditionally
underserved when it comes to the completeness and sophistication of
network management solutions. Frameworks offer broad functionality but
often require substantial upfront and continued investment while
entry-level and open source solutions offer low upfront costs but are
typically narrower in focus - requiring manual processes to fill the
gaps. And yet, mid-sized organizations have the same needs as large
enterprise when it comes to optimizing their networks. Entuity is on
the right track to answer this challenge, bringing the
enterprise-class capabilities of their well-known Eye of the Storm
solutions to the mid-tier in a richly-featured product form that is
focused on affordability, fast deployment, and quick return on
investment."
-
Quote, attributed to Michael Jannery, President and CEO, Entuity
"We
understand that in this economy, nearly all IT professionals are under
pressure to cut costs - especially those within SMEs or single
departments of larger enterprises. But, in an effort to ensure that
every dollar counts, network administrators should ask themselves: am
I giving up more than I need to stay within budget? Anyone charged
with keeping a network up and running needs to know what devices they
have, how they're connected, how they're performing, and where
problems are occurring. If you don't have real-time insight into every
single one of these things, your network management budget could be
better spent."
-
Quote, attributed to Julian Renecke, Managing Partner, NetSpeed
Technologies
"As an Entuity reseller, EYE NPE enables
NetSpeed to meet the demands of mid-market companies by offering a
sophisticated network management solution at an incredible price. The
two biggest advantages of EYE NPE are its automation capabilities and
real-time, accurate network visibility. Both play a vital role in
reducing time spent with mundane, time consuming IT tasks for more
efficient staffing. "
