LifeLock Files Motion to Reconsider in California's U.S. District Court

TEMPE, Ariz. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - LifeLock, an industry leader in identity theft protection, has filed a motion to reconsider in California's U.S. District Court in the case of Experian v. LifeLock. Last month, the District Court in California granted Experian's motion for partial summary judgment on its claim for unfair competition.

LifeLock has dedicated its business to protecting consumers and has helped more than one million consumers proactively protect their privacy for the last four years. The LifeLock services offering includes a broad array of proactive identity theft protection services from monitoring information that is traded online, verifying changes in addresses, assisting members with lost or stolen wallets and/or purses to setting fraud alerts and requesting opt-out from pre-approved credit offers.

"It is unfortunate that Experian seeks to block us from placing fraud alerts for consumers, however, we will provide the court with new information from several sources, including independent privacy experts, who will explain that if Experian were to succeed in blocking LifeLock from competing with it and placing fraud alerts - consumers would be hurt," said LifeLock CEO Todd Davis. "Additionally, we have faith that in the end, the Court will act in the best interest of the consumer."

LifeLock is fully committed to educating consumers about identity theft, assisting law enforcement and providing the best service possible to its members and partners.
