Newswise - EasyDues, which provides Web-based dues collection software for fraternities, sororities, and social organizations, took top honors in the 2009 Babson College Undergraduate Business Plan Competition.

The John H. Muller Jr. Business Plan Prizes Competition honors an undergraduate individual or team with $5,000 for developing the best business plan in an entrepreneurial venture, $2,500 to the first runner-up, and $1,000 to the second runner-up. Established through the generosity of former Babson president William F. Glavin, and his wife, Cecily M. Glavin, the Muller Prize honors the entrepreneurial accomplishments of John H. Muller Jr., founder and former chairman of General Housewares Corporation and chairman of the Babson College Board of Trustees from 1989 to 1997. Business plans are evaluated by alumni volunteers from throughout the world, and then finalists make their presentations to an independent panel of judges.

The Babson College 2009 Business Plan Competitions were held during the school's "Celebrating Student Venturing" day. Babson founded the very first college business plan competition in 1984 and today awards are almost $100,000 in cash and services in kind.

This year's competition was sponsored by Pepper Hamilton and VistaPrint. Pepper Hamilton LLP is a multipractice law firm with more than 500 lawyers in seven states and the District of Columbia. The firm provides corporate, litigation, and regulatory legal services to leading businesses, governmental entities, nonprofit organizations, and individuals throughout the nation and the world. The firm was founded in 1890. VistaPrint is the small business marketing company that provides products like business cards, postcards, checks, and rubber stamps to small businesses and consumers.
