Actress Katie Chonacas Appears in Action Thriller Film Streets of Blood
To Be Released Worldwide July 28, 2009
"Actress Katie Chonacas will appear as "Cecilia" alongside Val Kilmer, Sharon Stone, 50 Cent, and Michael Biehn in the action thriller film STREETS OF BLOOD, which will be released worldwide on DVD July 28, 2009.
Produced by Emmett/ Furla Films and distributed by Anchor Bay Entertainment, STREETS OF BLOOD follows the story of a police officer whose partner died during Hurricane Katrina, however he later discovers that his partner may have been murdered. An investigation follows, taking the officer and his new partner into the depths of the criminal underworld.
Chonacas shows her acting range as "Cecilia," a young teenage girl strung out on drugs. She shares, "Filming STREETS OF BLOOD was a wonderful experience. I felt so blessed working with Charles Winkler. He is such a great director. This was the first film where I read the script, and I viewed roles and was able to pick out which part I felt would be the most challenging and help me grow as an actress, then Charles and I would sit down and talk about it. Then, he offered me the film. I felt like a real movie star."
As the face of top luxury brands such as Oliver Peoples and Taryn Rose, Chonacas has become one of the most watched emerging actresses and producers in Hollywood. Chonacas is best known for her roles in hit television series such as COLD CASE, IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, and CSI NY. In addition to her work on television, Chonacas recently toured Spain and South Africa with megastar 50 Cent.
In addition to STREETS OF BLOOD, Chonacas will also appear in the horror/thriller film A PERFECT GETAWAY alongside actors Chris Hemsworth, Timothy Olyphant, Milla Jovich, and Steve Zahn on August 14, 2009, and on December 2, 2009 she will appear alongside Nicholas Cage, Val Kilmer, Eva Mendes, and Fairuza Balk as "Tina" in the crime drama film BAD LIUTENANT: PORT OF CALL NEW ORLEANS. She is also set to produce JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE starring Forrest Whitaker and 50 Cent later this year.
