World Computer Exchange Running the Friends and Family Donation Campaign to Finance Computer Shipments to Senegal and Nepal
HULL, Mass. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - World Computer Exchange, located at www.worldcomputerexchange.org,
is running a Friends and Family Campaign June 1st -
June 30th in an effort to raise the remaining $20,000 needed
to finance operations and computer shipments destined to schools in
Nepal and Senegal. World Computer Exchange (WCE) announced they have an
anonymous donor that will match 100% of all donated funds up to $10,000
in an effort to encourage participation, support the operations of WCE,
and ultimately deliver computers to children in Senegal and Nepal.
World Computer Exchange is a global education and environment nonprofit
volunteer organization that helps connect youth in 67 developing
countries to the skills, opportunities, and understanding of the
Internet while keeping working computers out of landfills. WCE
refurbishes used computers that are no longer wanted or useful in the
United States and sends them to developing nations such as Bangladesh,
Kenya, Nigeria, Honduras and Haiti. WCE's eCorps Initiative sends teams
of tech professionals and university students to developing countries to
staff programs which address global technology, education, environmental
and cross-cultural issues in the developing world.
World Computer Exchange provides refurbished computers to children in an
effort to help connect youth and bridge the digital divide. Without
these computers, children would not have access to learn and help
themselves pull out of poverty. WCE's two upcoming shipments to Senegal
and Nepal will be ready to send once fully funded. The Senegal shipment
will help connect 6,000 youth in 15 schools while the Nepal shipment
will connect a staggering 27,000 youth in 75 Himalayan schools.

WCE is planning similar computer shipments to Bolivia, India, Togo and
Jordan that are also in need of financing. For more information
