  Share With Friends

LINDON, Utah - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Luxul Wireless, a leading innovator of patented high-performance wireless signal technologies, announced today it has signed an agreement with Smartronix, a supplier of turnkey system solutions used in military and other government applications, that allows Luxul products to be integrated within Smartronix systems and kits. Initially, Smartronix will integrate Shock-WAV Frequency Translating Amplifier (FTA) and X-WAV Antenna products, creating the LastLink solution. Targeted for use by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), LastLink delivers secure point-to-point links between military locations, while also enabling local WI-FI access at those locations. The LastLink solution is currently being featured at the 2009 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference (SOFIC 09) in Tampa, Florida, through June 4, 2009, in the Smartronix booth (#202, 204, 206).

The Luxul Wireless FTA converts standard 5GHz signals to the U.S. government restricted 4.4GHz band, allowing for the use of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) technologies within secure government band applications. Luxul's X-WAV antennas deliver superior signal range in challenging environments where obstructions often impede signal propagation or where mobility is a requirement.

"Critical to the LastLink solution is the ability to utilize COTS technologies in secure military bands, which is what the Luxul FTA enables us to do," said Steven Bishop, Smartronix Director of Engineering Solutions. "Secure, high-capacity wireless networks are vital to our military operations overseas, and Smartronix is proud to offer a turnkey solution together with Luxul Wireless and Fortress Technologies."

With sustained data rates of up to 20Mbps, LastLink allows for the secure delivery of high-capacity wireless broadband from an operations center to company command posts located at distances of up to 30 miles away. This makes the solution ideal for sending large amounts of video, audio and other data over long distances.

"It's encouraging to see the high customer demand and interest from partners seeking to integrate Luxul Wireless technology into turnkey solutions," said Jeffrey Curtis, Luxul Wireless President and COO. "We're pleased to be working with Smartronix, an experienced DoD vendor with a great reputation."
