Five Tips to Demystify Your Career Path

1. What did you want to be when you grew up? In high school, perhaps you chose a college that could provide a degree in your desired field. What were your motivations for that projection? Were they valid then? How about today?

2. Go back a few more years. When you were a child, what did you picture yourself doing as an adult and why?

3. What is your definition of success? Regardless of your daily duties, compensation, or title, do you feel you have attained success in your eyes?

4. Are you dissatisfied with your job or your career? Before taking action, consider the difference.

5. Why are you questioning your career path? Many professionals fall into something comfortable and stay with it for their entire career, others experience an underlying anxiety because they don't know how they ended up where they are. Decide which one you are.
