OKI Data Americas is a Passionate Partner of the OctoberWoman Pink Ribbon Walk for the Third Consecutive Year, Debuting the Newest Addition to the Color Me OKI Program's Drive to Survive Breast Cancer
MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - The employees of OKI
Data Americas, a leading printer manufacturer, which markets its
products under the OKI
Printing Solutions brand, proudly announces its support of the 4th
annual OctoberWoman Pink Ribbon Walk, Run and Fun Day on May 17. On
behalf of the Color
Me OKI philanthropic program, the classic 1946 Mercury Woody Wagon1,
an iconic symbol of the surfer era, makes its debut at the breast cancer
fundraiser accompanied by a Beach Boys tribute band to entertain the
crowd. Attendees are encouraged to get their photo taken with the newest
addition of the Color
Me OKI fleet of vintage vehicles, which will be printed on OKI
Printing Solutions digital color printers and placed in keepsake
frames.
For 2009, the Color
Me OKI program also launched its postcards for prevention initiative
to help raise awareness of the importance of early detection. Breast
cancer prevention postcards will also be onsite for attendees to take
with them and send to loved ones in order to remind them to schedule a
mammogram appointment.
The OctoberWoman
Foundation was created in 1994 by the DiBella family as a means to
raise money and promote breast cancer awareness after losing loved ones
to the disease. The foundation's mission is to eradicate breast cancer
by supporting research projects and educating women toward heightened
awareness and prevention. The foundation has donated more than $2.5
million to their breast cancer programs at Hackensack University Medical
Center and Columbia University Medical Center. This year's walk is in
memory of Dr. Richard Davies of Hackensack University Medical Center who
directed their research program on a non-invasive biopsy. Dr. Davies'
work will continue under the direction of Dr. Tobi Greene and Mary
Davies, RN. The Pink Ribbon Walk, Run and Fun Day will be held outside
the NUS Consulting Group Building and check-in begins at 9:00 a.m., with
kick-off scheduled for 10:30 a.m.
"As we continue to support the fight against breast cancer, we are
grateful to all those who are active in raising money for research and
education in efforts to help eradicate this disease," said OctoberWoman
Foundation Co-Founder, Judy DiBella. "We are grateful to OKI
Data Americas and its employees for their recurring support each
year, as well as the rest of our sponsors, for their passion, dedication
and commitment to winning the fight against breast cancer."
"The employees and I couldn't be happier to have the classic 1946
Mercury Woody Wagon make its debut at the 4th annual
OctoberWoman Pink Ribbon Walk, Run and Fun Day," said OKI
Data Americas President and CEO Stewart Krentzman. "Each year we've
been inspired by all those involved in the foundation and we hope that
the newest addition to our fleet of vintage vehicles will help create
another memorable day for all attendees."
Since 2007, the Color
Me OKI philanthropic program has uniquely paired vintage vehicles
with live entertainment to help support and celebrate the strong women,
family and friends that are fighting breast and colorectal cancers. In
2009, the program was enhanced to include postcards for prevention,
helping to spread the importance of early detection. The personal
program stays true to the company's passion for customer intimacy, which
it does by engaging with customers on a one-on-one basis to understand
their needs. OKI Data Americas (www.okidata.com),
one of the leading printer manufacturers in the U.S., goes beyond
traditional service to develop long term partnerships with each customer
and make them feel like customers again.
The program supports the corporate philanthropic mission of Oki Electric
Industry Company, Ltd., the Tokyo, Japan-based parent company of OKI
Data Corporation, which is to undertake social contribution activities
that help realize the genuine enrichment of society, and contribute to
the quality of life for people around the world.

About the Color Me OKI Philanthropic Program
The Color
Me OKI philanthropic program was launched in April of 2007 after the
employees of OKI
Data Americas voted to adopt breast cancer as the company's leading
philanthropic cause. The backbone of the program is the "Twin Sister," a
1955 Pink Cadillac Fleetwood1 that was personally restored by
the company's CEO, Stewart Krentzman and his wife Bonnie. OKI
Data Americas decided to pair the vintage vehicle with a Tribute
Artist and took the program on the road supporting various breast cancer
events, while taking photos of attendees and printing them on its digital
color printers.
In 2008, The "Twin Sister" was joined by the 1950's Automotive Classic,
the 1959 Pink Cadillac Series 62 Convertible1, which has also
been restored to support the fight against breast cancer. The Color
Me OKI philanthropic program also expanded to support colorectal
cancer prevention and in 2009 the program acquired the surfer era icon,
the classic 1946 Mercury Woody Wagon1, adding to the fleet of
vehicles on the drive to survive.
Entering the third year of the philanthropic initiative, the Color
Me OKI program created postcards for prevention to raise awareness
of the importance of early breast and colorectal cancer detection.
Utilizing all three vintage vehicles, commemorative photos and the new
postcard initiative, the Color Me OKI program will continue to spread
the message of hope and inspiration to those fighting both breast and
colorectal cancers in 2009.
