PHOENIX & FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Juliette Fay, author of the popular novel, Shelter Me, will appear on Good Morning Arizona on Friday, May 15. Shelter Me has been hailed as "tinged with searing insight and often hilarious wry humor" by The Boston Globe, and "as much of a page-turner as any thriller" by best-selling author Marisa de Los Santos. Climbing the charts, it's been widely read and reviewed across the country.

Fay will give a talk and signing at Changing Hands Bookstore in Tempe on Saturday, May 16 at 2 p.m. and at The Wine Bar in Flagstaff on Sunday, May 17 at 4 p.m. All are welcome to meet the author and hear her read from her poignant and humorous new novel.

"There's humor in it," Fay admits, "because even in dark times, funny quirky things happen." While the premise is sad-a young mother coping with the sudden loss of her husband-readers find Shelter Me uplifting. Publishers Weekly deemed it "a wise and inspiring debut."

For a first time novelist, Fay has garnered accolades from wide variety of sources. Target chose it for its 2009 Bookmarked program; Independent Booksellers tapped it for the coveted Indie Next List; and Good Housekeeping featured it as a Book Pick for February.

About the Author

Inspiration for Shelter Me came from Fay's anxiety about losing her own husband. "I'm a worry wart, so it was a relief to turn it into a story about someone else." The story remained in her head, however, until she read "a really bad book" and wondered if she could do better.

Mother of four, Fay wrote while her children were in school and "between naps and play dates." It took about a year, after which she had the good fortune to retain a reputable agent and major publisher, HarperCollins. "It's a bit of a Cinderella story," she admits. "I'm still pinching myself."
