PHOTOS: Garyowen's 'Miracle' Helps Burned Boy

RISHIDIA, Iraq- During a reconnaissance patrol, a local mother presents her burned child to Dayton, Ohio native, Pfc. Josh Miracle (right), medic for Troop C, 1st "Garyowen" Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division to treat. The mounted patrol noticed the boy being carried by his mother and dismounted their vehicles to assist the child.

RISHIDIA, Iraq- After inspecting a burned child, Dayton, Ohio native, Pfc. Josh Miracle, provided medical supplies and discussed the child's care, while arranging for a follow-up visit by the squadron physician assistant the following day. The boy was discovered during a patrol conducted by Troop C, 1st "Garyowen" Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division.
RISHIDIA, Iraq- Cpt. Derek Drouin, from Nashua, N.H., commander of Troop C, 1st "Garyowen" Battalion, 7th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, promises the mother of a burned boy that he will return with the unit physician as soon as possible to give the burned boy additional treatment. The medic on patrol with the unit provided the mother with medical supplies to help the wound in the meantime. The boy's brothers and friends cheered the patrol with thanks as the patrol drove away.
