Sibblings Slay Stepfather
Nineteen year old, Brae Hansen, and her twenty year old brother, Nathaniel Gann are being tried for their stepfather's death. Both have been charged for murder and a special-circumstance allegation of lying in wait. If convicted they could both be sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole.
Deputy District Attorney, George Bennett, said the pair tried to make the slaying of sixty-three year old McNeil, look like a robbery.
Hansen's defense Attorney, Troy Britt, defended his client saying that she tried to withdraw herself from the hideous plot and put the blame of the killing on her brother. Britt continued, saying that Hansen's own life was threatened by her brother when she did try to interfere.
Although, Britt did concede that Hansen participated in the early killing plot by making a gun accessible and had a copy of the house for her brother to use. They are being tried in the same courthouse with separate juries deciding their fate.
