Adapx Showcases New Capturx(TM) Solutions for Automating Paper-Based Medical Records and Diagnostic Tests Using Microsoft(TM) Office and Digital Pens
New Capturx Healthcare Solutions to Be Highlighted at HIMSS 2009

Adapx, the company that is changing the way
mobile workers collect and share data, today announced new Capturx(TM)
healthcare solutions which integrate handwritten medical data into
Microsoft(TM) Office using digital pens. From April 5-8, attendees of next
week's Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS)
conference at McCormick Place in Chicago can learn more about the new
Capturx healthcare solutions in Booth #636. Visitors will see live demos of
how Capturx is being used by the Department of Defense and Holland America
Line to instantly digitize medical forms as they are being filled out with
pen and paper. In addition, attendees can learn more about how the Capturx
diagnostic tools are helping medical teams streamline the recording and
sharing of paper-based tests with clinicians to diagnose potential brain
injuries.
Holland America Line and the Department of Defense Enjoy the Benefits of
Capturx
Holland America Line collects and tracks a range of health information for
employees ranging from immunization records to treatment at their
state-of-the-art shipboard medical facilities. Most of that information
starts on paper but ultimately needs to be stored and accessible in a
secure digital environment.
"We turned to Capturx Forms for Excel to help us streamline the data entry
and scanning of medical forms," said Dan Grausz, senior vice president,
fleet operations, Holland America Line. "Since the Capturx pen digitizes
all of our data, we don't have to worry about the tedious tasks of scanning
or re-entering data. Most importantly, we avoid disrupting our shipboard
teams by changing their workflow or deploying mobile computers."
Following are other examples of how the Department of Defense is using
Capturx:
-- Medical teams are using the Capturx medical forms solution to treat
wounded warriors. Using Capturx Forms for Excel 2007, digital pens, and the
automated Field Medical Card (DD Form 1380), military medical teams can
easily record and create a digital file that contains critical information
about wounded soldiers. The digital file immediately becomes part of the
soldiers' permanent medical record and can easily be accessed by any
treating physician.
-- Medical teams are using the Capturx diagnostic tools to automate pen
and paper based screening tests to help with the diagnosis of Traumatic
Brain Injury (TBI). Using the Capturx software with digital pens, teams can
record and playback a range of tests, helping medical teams streamline
their testing, consultations, and record keeping.

On Tuesday, April 7 at 11:00 am CT, Adapx will be in the Microsoft Booth
#1232 presenting a case study on how the Department of Defense is using
Capturx.
"We're excited to be working with Adapx," said Molly McCarthy, product
manager at Microsoft. "Capturx is a great example of the power of the
Office 2007 platform -- partners can build innovative solutions and
customers get the power of immediate actionable digital data from paper
forms."
For people who are not attending HIMSS, Adapx will be hosting a free
Webcast on April 14 at 2:00 pm ET. To register, please visit Adapx's Web
site at https://www1.gotomeeting.com/register/464043287.
