Kyocera Mita America Names Finalists and National Winner in Inaugural U.S. Technical Service Award Competition
Certified Technicians Demonstrate Strong Aptitude in Competition for Cash Prizes, Trip to Japan Headquarters

Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the
world's leading document solutions companies, today announced the top five
regional finalists and winner of its inaugural Kyocera Mita Technical
Service Award competition in the United States.
The winner, Craig Doeden from Century Business Products in Sioux Falls,
South Dakota, will spend a week meeting with executives at Kyocera Mita's
international headquarters in Osaka, Japan, along with taking exclusive
tours of company facilities in Japan and China.
This first-ever U.S. competition provided more than 1,000 Kyocera-certified
TASKalfa MFP technicians the chance to participate on behalf of their
dealerships. The U.S. contest was launched less than three months after
the introduction of Kyocera's popular new TASKalfa series of color
multifunctional products (MFP), which started shipping in December 2008.
Ultimately, more than 150 dealership technicians competed for the grand
prize. Top scorers from Kyocera's five regions advanced to a semi-final
then final round of competition, held at Kyocera Mita's Dallas-based
National Training Center on Friday, March 27.
"All of the contestants exhibited an impressive and advanced level of
technical expertise, which has grown to become a hallmark of our certified
training programs across the country," said Terry Knopsnyder, vice
president of engineering at Kyocera Mita America. "This competition is an
excellent vehicle to showcase their talent and dedication, and provides a
unique way for Kyocera Mita to demonstrate its commitment to its channel
partners. We are proud of our winners, and look forward to furthering our
educational and training initiatives for all Kyocera Mita dealerships."
The regional winners were:
-- Timothy J. Peterson of Alpha Imaging, Inc., in Newington, Connecticut;
-- Mark Lugar of Kaweah Office Products, in Hanford, California;
-- Craig Doeden of Century Business Products, in Sioux Falls, South
Dakota;
-- Mike Plough of COMDOC, in Savannah, Georgia; and,
-- Robert Harris of Bircham's Office Products, in Colorado Springs,
Colorado
In addition to the U.S. event, similar Kyocera Mita Technical Service Award
competitions are also being held in Canada and Europe.
