According to Dr. Houser, many patients end up in his office to discuss a tummy tuck after trying for years to flatten their abdomen with diet and exercise. "A sensible diet and regular exercise are essential for overall health. Unfortunately, after having children or after losing a large amount of weight, the abdominal skin and muscles are often stretched too far to fix with diet and exercise" explains the Columbus, Ohio plastic surgeon.

With a tummy tuck, Dr. Houser actually repairs the stretched abdominal muscles, creating an "internal corset" and leaving his patient with a tight, firm abdomen.
