Letter to the Editor

Save Our Country, Nepal

Dear Editor,

I was really impressed by the article, "How to Rescue Nepal?" . I always used to say that Nepal should be republic, all should be equal. A royal person is also a simple person just like us. But I now realise the fact that the king is a symbol of sovereignty and nationalism. I realise the fact that how great King Mahendra was although he couldn't rule for a long period. Had King Mahendra lived for few more years, Nepal would have been one of the best countries. I am a great fan of King Mahendra.

But that's all the past, he is not alive anymore, we miss him. But still we have to find some alternative to the problems now and save our country, Nepal.

We don't want India to interfere in Nepal. We want freedom and everlasting peace. We want our kingdom to be Hindu and Buddhist based and to be famous as it was until now. I agree with you that the Maoists and the king should forget the bitter past and unite again and come to the fact and serve together for the nation. We don't need an autocrat king but a ceremonial king who can be a guardian of our country and a symbol of unity.

I want you to publish more great articles in the future too. Unlike other journalists who are always criticizing the parties and making quarrels between them, instead you should look to unite all parties together. All parties should unite together and stop listening to other foreigners. All parties and the king should unite together now. This bad game should be stopped please. I look forward to reading more such nationalism and factual news in the future too.

PS: Don't think that I am a royalist, I am just a nationalist and to be truthful, I come from a family which follows Congress! But still we have to change our minds to change the country.

Jay
