Select Alside Windows and Patio Doors Earn Homeowners Energy Tax Credit of up to $1,500

Alside, leading manufacturer of premium
vinyl windows and patio doors, announces it offers a wide range of products
that meet or exceed the recently updated energy efficiency home improvement
tax credit established by the federal government.
The purchase of Alside's quality windows and patio doors can earn
homeowners as much as $1,500 in home improvement tax credit while reducing
their home's energy consumption year-round. Alside's ClimaTech Elite
package for windows and patio doors features low-e glass and an
energy-efficient construction that qualify for the tax credit.

"The new energy tax
credit offers homeowners a significant financial benefit. They can now
receive a tax credit for 30% of the purchase of energy efficient Alside
windows and patio doors," said Robert Schindler, vice president of
marketing at Associated Materials Incorporated.
"Our ClimaTech Elite insulating glass
system makes it easy for homeowners to earn up to $1,500 in energy tax
credit, whether purchasing our value-focused selections or our option-rich,
premium products," added Schindler.
Qualifying Alside products include Sheffield, 8000 Series, UltraMaxx,
Excalibur, Casement, Bay & Bow windows, and 5100 and 6100 patio doors.
Dealer Benefits
In addition to providing an extensive product line, Alside also makes
ordering easy and convenient: By simply asking for the appropriate ClimaTech Elite insulating
glass package, dealers can be confident they are providing their
customers with products that qualify, rather than having to manage the
details themselves.
"Our goal has always been to provide professional installers with great
products and support that make it easy to provide homeowners with the
quality and options they deserve," said Schindler.
Energy Efficiency Tax Credit Details
According to federal government resources, the tax credit applies to
windows and patio doors placed in service in 2009 and 2010. To qualify for
the tax credit, homeowners must save their sales receipts showing product
cost. They also should save their NFRC/ENERGY STAR® labels and
manufacturers certificates.
Under the revised requirements of the tax credit, energy-efficient glass
used in windows and patio doors must have a U-factor and Solar Heat Gain
Coefficient (SHGC) of 0.30 or less. U-factor measures a window's ability to
prevent heat from escaping; the SHGC measures its performance in blocking
heat generated from sunlight.
