TORONTO, ONTARIO - (Marketwire - March 12, 2009) - Enbridge Gas Distribution (TSX:ENB) (NYSE:ENB) is pleased to introduce a new program offering residential customers a $300 on-bill rebate upon purchase or rental and installation of a tankless natural gas water heater.
By heating water only when there is a demand for it, tankless water heaters are specifically designed to use less energy. This saves customers money and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. While conventional water heaters continually reheat the water that is then stored in a tank ready for use, a tankless water heater only heats the water when it is required.
Tankless water heaters are far more compact than their conventional counterparts and can be hung on the wall to save valuable space in the home. They provide an efficient, reliable source of hot water on-demand.

Between 1995 and 2007, Enbridge Gas Distribution's energy efficiency programs reduced natural gas use by 3.6 billion cubic metres and carbon dioxide emissions by 6.9 million tonnes. That is equivalent to providing natural gas service to more than 1.1 million homes for one year or removing 1.5 million cars from the road for a year.
Enbridge customers are eligible for the $300 on-bill rebate on certain qualified Energy Star natural gas tankless water heaters manufactured by John Wood, Monitor, Navien, Paloma, Rheem, Takagi, WaiWela and Rinnai (through a contributions agreement with Redmond Williams) that are installed between March 2, 2009 and August 31, 2009.
