2 Grenade Blasts Rock Kashmir

Srinagar, March 11: Two grenade explosions rocked the summer capital of Kashmir within a span of 14-hours, injuring an Indian para-military soldier.
Police said that suspected militants lobbed a hand grenade towards a picket of paramilitary near Hindu temple at the heavily guarded Hari Singh High Street in the summer capital on Wednesday afternoon.
The grenade exploded with a big bang, injuring a paramilitary soldier Chok Linga, who was hospitalised.
Immediately after the blast, police and paramilitary personnel laid siege around the area and launched combing and search operations to track down the militants. No arrests were, however, reported.
Meanwhile, a police spokesman said that militants lobbed a grenade towards CRPF personnel of 162 bn at Malkhah, Rainawari, some 6 kms from summer capital Srinagar on Tuesday evening. "The grenade exploded with a big bang, without causing any injuries," he said.
