Veteran Tribute Nonprofit Film Project by IndianHead Films Killed by Burbank City's Environmentalists
PALM HARBOR, Fla. (EWORLDWIRE) Mar 9, 2009
For years, the producers of Indian Head Films wanted to make a special film, a short film. Michael E. Camerieri's heroic story was chosen.
Michael E. Camerieri, a Korean War hero who received a Bronze Star and two purple hearts, was on the Wrightwood Mountains set in California in 1998 for the initial filming for the short film, "One of Many ">."
When Mr. Camerieri died four years later, he left $15,000 to help Indian Head Films finish the short, which is a tribute to the father of Joseph A. Camerieri, an Indian Head Films producer, and the many forgotten heroes who gave their lives for freedom during the Korean War. The Web site for "One of Many" is located at 'http://www.oneofmanyfilm.com' and features great film clips to review.
In the spring of 2003, Indian Head Films was attempting to finish filming. Indian Head Films had everything in order: a film crew to donate their time, actors and locations approved, an approved dumpsite by the city of Burbank's Fire Marshall, SAG contracts signed, camera and lighting equipment rented.
Despite having everything in order and being initially approved by the city of Burbank, Indian Head Films was refused a permit to begin filming. At the eleventh hour the city let Indian Head Films know the pollywog (tadpoles) at the dumpsite were mating, and the permit for the dumpsite could not be approved. This occurred despite getting approval from the city of Burbank's Fire Department.
The cancellation of the shoot meant the entire $15,000 contribution was lost. To this day, the short film is incomplete, and Indian Head Films is unable to finance the completion of the tribute project.
"Like the unresolved Korean War," stated Producer John Volpert, "this issue has not been resolved with the city of Burbank to approve a permit to allow for the completion of the short film, 'One of Many' - a tribute to Michael E. Camerieri and his forgotten comrades of the Korean War."
