This Sunday 2pm! Bush said "Fight the terrorists" go out and shop." Did he also say, "Fight terrorism" seize innocent people from the homes and workplaces and put them in for-profit prisons?"
Our answer: We are an immigrant country and New York, like Los Angeles and Miami" is an immigrant city. In fact we have a large green woman in our harbor welcoming the world to come here. The immigration police should remember that they are immigrants too...
Saturday noon March 7th: 201 Varick Street, near the W Houston 1 Train station - we will rally in front of a detention center that holds hundreds but has no sign. The rally will be followed by a trip to a notorious for-profit prison in Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Sunday at 2 PM, March 8th: Highline Ballroom at 431 West 16th Street in the Chelsea, it's the big worship show with the 40 voice Life After Shopping Gospel Choir. Immigrant Rights advocates, and some survivors of the detention centers ill join us" close Gitmo and close our local Gitmo's too! Legendary singer Bernardo Palombo will be our guest.
