Jacobs Receives Contract From the Federal Bureau of Prisons for Federal Correctional Institution, Berlin, New Hampshire

Officials did not disclose the contract value, yet estimate the construction value at over $240 million.

This design-build project encompasses a total building area of approximately 55,000 square meters with living units and support facilities for a rated capacity of 1152 inmates. The facility will be a "campus plan" arrangement with related site utilities and site development and a Federal Prison Industries (UNICOR) Call Center within a secure compound. A minimum security Federal Prison Camp with living units and support facilities with a capacity of 128 inmates also is included. An administration building, associated parking, and roadways will be constructed outside the secure perimeter.

Jacobs' construction management services include review of construction documents, administrative support services, construction project scheduling services, inspection, monitoring of testing, and other services related to a design-build project.
