The Real Story Behine BP Gas Stations
My name is Kevin. I live in midtown Omaha, Ne. I worked at a BP gas station on the 11pm - 7am shift for two years. During that time BP had already started their new ad campaign.
Let me tell you first that during my time there, I had an exorbitant amount of people driving off without paying for their gas, was threatened, swung at, had been in several fights, held off a few small riots, had knifes pointed at me, was in two knife fights, stabbed once, had more guns pointed at my head than I can count, shot at three times, and seen the police beat a man nearly to death, leaving tons of blood all over the parking lot.
I (on the other end), broke at least one persons collar bone, caused damage to many cars, including throwing a beer can (that fell out of a case of beer they were trying to steal) through the back of a Jeep Cherokee, beat up a crazed homeless man with a window squeegee, and told the police to leave for their lack of work.
If BP can make this gas station better with their silly cartoons, and commercials that don't really make sense, then I wonder what this world is coming to. What they should do is clean up the locations they own RIGHT NOW. The place I spoke of before is only one of several locations around Omaha (not all BP's)
To really grab people's attention, they should market how they are going to have some kind of way to refuel hybrids, or some new technology that makes cars run 200% more. The technology is there, why can't they just be the ones to be first in acting, thus, first in a new field of customers?
It is not that I don't like BP. It is that I am disappointing in they way they run things. The location I worked at also had a ruptured underground holding tank, which went unnoticed for many years. What kind of environmental impact did this have? Who knows? But I know that BP did send representatives several times to 'check' that everything was up to code. And nothing was done until the city did some street work.
Please write something, or tell them something about at least one completely unsatisfied customer/employee. I have already voiced my opinion to them, but still no one notices....
