New Industry-standard Metalized EMI Filters from LCR Electronics Increase Appliance Safety, Reduce Lead Time and Costs
NORRISTOWN, Pa., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- LCR Electronics, a leading manufacturer of EMI filters, electronic products as well as high-end enclosures for military, telecom and commercial applications, now offers a new EMI filter series that reduces component cost, while providing better safety characteristics in large white good appliances, such as dishwashers and top or front load washing machines.
The new 095 Series filters use highly cost-effective metalized film technology that delivers high reliability and fail-safe characteristics similar to more expensive, older technologies, such as impregnated paper-foil. If a failure occurs, the metallization over the film evaporates, eliminating the chance of electrodes of the opposite polarity touching and causing a short circuit condition. This significantly reduces the chance of fire and explosion, while ensuring that power is still available to the equipment in a safe, operational mode.
Comprised of industry-standard UL94-V0 high CTI rated plastic, the new filters are available in an assortment of component values and configurations to meet the EMI needs of different models. The 095 Series features RAST-5 terminal configurations or fast-on tabs for easy assembly. Rated current for the new filters is 6A to 16A at 40 degrees C (104 degrees F) and rated voltage is 90 VAC to 250 VAC (50/60Hz). Ambient working temperature is -25 degrees C to 100 degrees C (-13 degrees F to 212 degrees F) for both storage and operation. The IP55 class filters meet industry standards EN132400, EN133200, EN61000-4-5 and are RoHS/WEEE compliant.
Nominal values for the X capacitors are from 220 nF to 1 uF and up to 27 nF for the Y capacitors, and can include common mode inductance nominal values up to 3 mH.
Detailed specifications and specific pricing for the 095 Series EMI Filters can be obtained through LCR Electronics.
