What JW's Are Made Of
Glad to Be a Jehovah Witness
Mr. John Piper is apparently not very well versed on JW history. All a person has to do is call up this person who gave many convention talks around 1969-71 and in them he made the comment, "Stay alive until 1975." These talks can be found on the Internet at the freeminds.org website and you can call this man up and talk to him in person. He did not deny that he said those things.
He is not the least bit sorry that his talks influenced many a JW to quit school and to give up marriage and having a family all because Armageddon was so near (1975) and they needed to spend all their time serving the interests of the Watchtower Corp. I was a JW during that time period and I know what was said and I know that JW's lie about 1975 today. I have been out of the WT Org since 1988- I am a former elder, too.
Thanks for printing both sides as a dialogue will only show what JW's are made of. Mr. Piper's letter does more to expose the WT religion than it does to help it. Just because Mr. Piper has not found the 1975 smoking gun does not mean it doesn't exist, it only means he has not found it yet or that it has been very well removed from WT history and suppressed by JW's who were alive back then. Saddam Hussein claimed he had no WMD's either and did that save him?
