I Am One of Jehovah's Witnesses, Baptized in 1970
My Story of Growing Up a Jehovah Witness With Severe Ulcerative Colitis
I have a sweet relative who has colitis. My cousin used all his good fortune in marrying her. She is not one of Jehovah's Witnesses. So I fail to see the connection.
I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, baptized in 1970. I have Congestive heart failure and Type 2 Diabetes. What does one have to do with the other? Nothing! If I were to be any other religion, I would be dead by now due to their allowing unchristian practices to be accepted. With JWs, we want to have ourselves in an approved clean condition before Jehovah. That would be the only thing I can see binding the two separate things.
I was there in 1975. Many JWs were running around with wild speculations. Yes the math worked out for something to happen in 1975. But are we not glad Jehovah isn't anal like that? (Never thought I would use those particular words in the same sentence.) Jehovah is more concerned with people than a timetable or meeting a schedule relentlessly. He will do things at precisely the proper time. That is what some forgot, to wait on Jehovah's proper time and not jump ahead. I once saw a little girl do just that with the same results. While her parents held both hands at a crosswalk, she wiggled free to dart ahead. She was hit by a Police car. Broke her hip. All from not waiting on the light or her parents guidance.
Aren't we glad it was not on man's time? I know for certain more than 5 million people today are. They would not be part of Jehovah's organization today if Jehovah had said "Times up! Men have kept track of the math." Those and possibly millions more will have the chance to come out of false religion and learn about who Jehovah really is and wants for humanity. Better than that, they will not go down with this old corrupt system is destroyed.
I wake up ever day to miseries of this body. So what? We all have miseries we think are just as bad as my own. Whether I would be as I am or in perfect health, this would not affect my knowledge and beliefs from Jehovah. I have the hope of living on a paradise earth cleaned up of all the filth we all see today. Also being in perfect health with a body that works really well! But whether I am there or I screw up so badly I do not make it, this does not matter. It will happen. All of Jehovah's promises happen just as promised. Others will see and live it.
Did you ever see a Canadian TV program called "Holmes on Homes"? Mike Holmes is a contractor who goes to people's homes who have been cheated by shoddy contractors and fixes things the way things should be the first time. Why bring this up here? All we have to go on with most things are "promises". That is not a bad thing. What our obligation in this is to check on if a contractor or God or gods promises are kept in the past. Basic sense will tell you to go with the one who keeps his promises in the past as the only reliable indication of future efforts. Really looking into the Bible yourself, not allowing others to do so for you, shows Jehovah can be the Most Trusted One.
He will make the repairs to both earth and humanity to put things as they SHOULD be. According to Revelations 21:4 even death will be done away with as well as causes for misery. This will happen whether I am there or not. Whether I do or not will not be because of any defects in my body.
