Hisense Awarded CES 2009 the 'Global TV Brand Top7'
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 9 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- On January 9, 2009 at Las Vegas CES,
asChina's leading home appliance brand, Hisense was awarded the "Global TV
Brand Top7" by launching one of the world's thinnest LED LCD TV. Hisense has
now become the most famous Chinese color TV brands by winning this honor.
Hisense was also awarded "Top 10 CE Brand From China" for the third
consecutive year. At the same time, Hisense also successfully defended "Global
CE Brands Top 50" award.
The poll is jointly organized by American International Data Group (IDG)
and Reed Business Information Group (RBI) under the theme of "to
internationalize brands". Hisense was selected by virtue of its superior
technical innovation capability and its excellent performance in the global
market.
At the presentation ceremony, the CIO of IDG Jeff De Balko presented the
award in person and said: "Hisense made the outstanding performance in
products R & D, which is unanimously approved by all expert judges. Also,
Hisense's great performance in the international market sets a good example
for all electronic consumer brands that look to develop overseas".
At CES 2009, Hisense LED TV TLM42T08GP, with 55mm thickness, is one of the
world's thinnest 42 inch LED (light-emitting diode) TVs. It uses auto
background light control to improve display quality, reduces electricity
consumption by 30 percent and achieves a minimum output power of 50 watts,
enabling the service life to reach 100,000 hours. In other words, if you use
it 10 hours a day, it can be used for more than 20 years. For Hisense products
with LED background lighting, the material for molds is all in compliance with
ROHS standards, which is recyclable and non-spraying so that it is a true
"green" product -- no radiation, no lead and no Hg. Moreover, the color
deoxidization performs very well with rich color display.
Currently, there are only five enterprises worldwide applying large-size
LED background light control molds to products. Hisense, as the only Chinese
company, is among those five. This is the first time that domestic
corporations stand in the same line with the international giant on
researching and developing the key technology of flat panel TVs.
Hisense's vice president Mr. Guo Qingcun stated: "These awards for Hisense
are closely connected with Hisense's internationalization strategy". In 2008,
the Hisense brand internationalization process continued to progress.
In April 2008, Hisense and Whirlpool jointly funded 900,000,000 RMB and
founded a new company, which committed itself to the R & D, technology,
procurement, and production of high-end washing machines and large capacity
refrigerators.
In May 2008, Hisense and IBM co-operated to join in the international
intelligence traffic market.
In July 2008, Hisense obtained the naming rights to the stadium for the
Australian Open inMelbourne.
In September 2008, Hisense sponsored the Israeli national football team
for the South Africa World Cup.
In November 2008, Hisense Egypt's production base was officially put into
operation, with its products spreading throughout the North African and Middle
Eastern markets.
All these measures promoted the Hisense brand influence inNorth America,
Australia,Europe, andAfrica. Hisense has made outstanding achievements in
the global market, as figures show that from January to October 2008, Hisense
flat panel TV exports in units increased by 183.7 percent compared with the
same period last year, with the total sales volume nearly doubling. In the
domestic market, Hisense flat panel TVs continue to be the No. 1 brand, a
distinction they have enjoyed for five consecutive years.
