Did A UFO Destroy A Wind Turbine In England?

By Robert Paul Reyes

"Green energy company Ecotricity is investigating what mangled a wind turbine in England over the weekend, a spokeswoman for the company said.

Press cited locals reporting a bright light at the time of the incident, in which one of the blades snapped off, and speculation that unidentified flying objects may have been responsible.

After inspecting the site, however, the Health and Safety Executive said on Thursday that the turbine at the Fen Farm wind farm in Lincolnshire had not been hit by an object. "It wasn't a collision," an HSE spokesman said, adding that investigations were continuing." Reuters

In the Dark Ages if a farmer's crop failed he blamed witches or demons for his misfortune, in today's more enlightened times if a farmer's field is marred by a crop circle he blames UFO's.

Throughout human history common sense has always been a very rare commodity. If a crop fails it's because of lack of rain, and it's not the handiwork of a witch. If a crop circle magically appears it's not evidence of a UFO, but the artisanship of a prankster.

If a wind turbine is destroyed in the middle of the night, only an idiot speculates that a UFO might have been responsible. I'm not an expert on wind turbines but I'm guessing that lightning might be the culprit.

Folks the simplest explanation is usually the right one. If I suddenly loss power I won't speculate that Paris Hilton sent one of her minions to cut my electricity because I've written many essays criticizing her without mercy. Common sense will tell me that the thunderstorm probably had something to do with my loss of power.
