ENR to Present 'Managing Construction's Financial Crisis' Conference in NYC, Feb. 24-25

Experts to explore novel ways for funding projects, managing risks, and reassessing business tactics

NEW YORK, Jan. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- McGraw-Hill Construction's Engineering News-Record (ENR) will host a conference dedicated to "Managing Construction's Financial Crisis" at theMcGraw-Hill building at 1221 Avenue of the Americas inNew York City, on February 24-25, 2009. Around the country, the construction industry is suffering the brunt of the credit crunch. During this conference, experts in the field will share their perspectives regarding the impact of the financial crisis on the construction industry and offer approaches and advice for how industry professionals can best tackle the challenges that lie ahead.

This conference will explore different ways to maximize opportunities and deal with the damaging effects of a recession, including a focus on understanding the short-term impact and long-term risks. Attendees will have a chance to refocus and reassess strategic business opportunities. Kenneth Simonson, Chief Economist for the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), will offer opening remarks. A keynote panel, also on day one, moderated by Berger Group Holdings, Inc. Chairman Derish M. Wolff, will share perspectives on the impact of the financial crisis on the industry and how to weather the storm. A closing keynote presentation by Robert Murray, Vice President of Economic Affairs for McGraw-Hill Construction, will provide an update to the 2009 forecast for U.S. construction starts, a mainstay of business planning for construction industry executives.
