J. Jill Announces Top 10 Finalists in 3rd Annual 'Nature of Compassion' T-Shirt Design Contest Helping Women in Need
Public Invited to Vote on the Winning Design, Jan 5 - 19th
QUINCY, Mass., Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- After receiving more than 500 original entries throughout the country, J. Jill today announced the top 10 finalists in its third annual "Nature of Compassion" t-shirt design contest. The annual competition benefits poor and homeless women become self-sufficient. Starting January 5 through January 19, 2009, the public can view the 10 designs and vote for their favorite when visiting any J. Jill store or logging onto www.jjill.com.

Celebrating fashion's artistic origins is paramount in J. Jill's philosophy. The "Nature of Compassion" contest was established in 2006 as a way to showcase original works of art, to pay homage to nature's ever changing beauty and to help women in need through its Compassion Fund, a donor-advised fund of the Boston Foundation. Each year, entrants are asked to submit original artwork depicting inspirational elements of nature. Here are the top 10 finalists in the 2009 "Nature of Compassion" contest:

Once the voting is completed, J. Jill will produce a limited-edition short-sleeve t-shirt featuring the winning design. J. Jill will donate 100% of the net proceeds to the J. Jill Compassion Fund, which is dedicated to helping poor and homeless women to become self-sufficient. This exclusive tee will be offered in all three channels: J. Jill stores, J. Jill catalog and online at jjill.com starting at the end of April, just in time for summer.
The grand prize winner will receive a $2,000 J. Jill shopping spree, as well as an artistic getaway for herself and a friend to Artista Creative Safaris for Women in Carmel-By-The-Sea, Calif.
