The 'Obama Chicago Ball,' A Public Inaugural Event to be Held at Condesa del Mar in Alsip, Tuesday, Jan. 20
CHICAGO, Jan. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- On Tuesday, January 20, history will be
made when Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President ofthe United States
of America. Chicagoans and people acrossIllinois are demonstrating
unprecedented pride in the President-elect's accomplishment, and many are
seeking ways to mark the historic occasion in grand fashion. From small
get-togethers to official and unofficial balls and galas, options abound for
those seeking a memorable way of ushering in the new and highly-anticipated
new era.
One such event is The Obama Chicago Ball (http://www.obamachicagoball.com)
being held at the elegant Condesa del Mar (http://www.condesadelmar.com),
12220 South Cicero Avenue, in South Suburban Alsip, on Tuesday, January 20th,
from 5:30-10:30 p.m. The gala celebration was conceived by local attorney and
ardent Obama supporter Tom Paris.
"I decided to host this event because so many people -- like myself --
wanted to do something special on inauguration day," said Paris. "While there
are other officially-sponsored events, we wanted to bring together a diverse
group of people from all walks of life and all political stripes who could all
take pride in the President-elect's successful campaign and the new direction
it means for the country."
According to Paris, more than 1,000 people are expected to attend -- with
the facility accommodating some 1,300 people.
Tickets are available at three price levels: $130/per person for preferred
seating; $105/per person for premium seating and $90/per person for available
seating (limited sight lines for video screens and live entertainment) and can
be purchased online via the secure website.
All packages include open bar, dinner, dessert, live entertainment
provided by Maggie Speaks (http://www.maggiespeaks.com), a D.J., dancing and
large screen video screens showing official inaugural events inWashington,
D.C. Only a select number of tickets are available at each price level.
Organizers are encouraging people to purchase tickets early to guarantee
availability. Select vendors will also be selling commemorative items and
collectables outside of the ballroom.
Paris selected Condesa del Mar because of its historic and elegant
accommodations. It's also easily accessible from all major expressways
including 294, the Dan Ryan and the Stevenson.
