Continental Industries Announces the In-House Production of Their Anodeless & Transition Risers

Customer request, quality control oversight and customer service led to the decision

TULSA, Okla., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ --Tulsa based Continental Industries, Inc. (CI) announced the in-house manufacture of their anodeless and transition risers. The anodeless meter riser provides a positive transition joint between Polyethylene (PE) pipe and the gas-carrying steel pipe of the meter assembly set, and requires no cathodic protection below the ground. Manufacturing the entire unit inTulsa will allow CI to manage the quality control and deliver the product to their clients in five days.

For three years CI has seen tremendous growth in their risers sales when they combined risers with their current package. Previously CI worked with an outside supplier to manufacture the anodeless riser. CI will begin tig welding the adapter that protects the actual transition. CI's new exterior coating will exceed the mil thickness that was previously used. CI's risers have been tested and manufactured to satisfy all DOT, ASTM, UPC, and NFPA specifications for use on natural gas distribution lines.

"We simply saw a need in the market to take our technology, knowledge and expertise and manufacture alternative risers and transitions," stated Russell Claybrook, vice president of the connectors division of Continental Industries gas & water division. "We are looking at the future and meeting the needs of our clients. Our goal is to be more efficient and deliver a better quality product to our clients."
