Farm Show Memories, Stories Wanted
Department of Agriculture to Record Visitors' Stories at Main Hall Booth
HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Visitors to this year's Pennsylvania Farm Show are encouraged to share their favorite memories and stories of past Farm Shows at the Department of Agriculture booth. The stories will be audio-recorded and kept as part of the Farm Show's historical record.
"Whether this year's show is someone's first or their ninety-third, the Pennsylvania Farm Show is a place where memories are made," said Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff. "We want to record your stories, anecdotes or descriptions of favorite events. Some of our long-time visitors have stories from their childhood or of bringing their children and grandchildren to the show. We want to preserve these stories for future generations to enjoy."
Visitors can sign up for time to share their stories at the Department of Agriculture booth, located in the Main Hall. An interviewer will be available to ask questions or simply listen. Interviews can last from one to 10 minutes.
Interviews can take place at the following times:
-- Saturday, Jan. 10 - 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.
-- Sunday, Jan. 11 - noon to 9 p.m.
-- Monday, Jan. 12 - 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
-- Tuesday, Jan. 13 - 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
-- Wednesday, Jan. 14 - 9 a.m. to noon
Copies of the recorded interviews will be made available on the Farm Show Web site in MP3 format.
The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the nation's largest indoor agricultural event and features nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 270 commercial exhibitors. The show runs Jan. 10-17 at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center inHarrisburg. Admission is free and parking is $8.
