Strange Closets Home Design Blog Announces New Format and Addition of Regular Contributors

  Share With Friends

CHICAGO, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Strange Closets blurs the distinction between home design blogs and magazines with the addition of several new contributors and the launch of a redesigned magazine-style format that includes Twitter. Popular original features such as weekly home tours, interviews and shop reviews will continue.

Joining founder and freelance writer/photographer Tate Gunnerson are:

-- Island Girl Salvage owner and Planet Green regular Tabitha Long
-- Interior Designer and blogger Heather Clawson of New York City's
       Habitually Chic
-- Interior Designers Nicholas Moriarty of Nicholas Moriarty Interiors and
Sean Cowan of Sean Michael Design
-- Ipso Facto Antiques owner Brandon Nelson
-- Bloggers Lizzie Garrett of DesignWatcher, Katie Brown of Design Boner,
Diane Durkes of Fine Diving in Chicago and Cesar Torres of Urraca
-- The Found founder Albert Tanquero
-- KitchenLab owner and designer Rebekah Zaveloff

"I've been inspired by news aggregation sites such as the Huffington Post and saw an opportunity for writers, bloggers and design professionals with a shared sensibility to come together under the Strange Closets umbrella," said Gunnerson. "Each of these contributors offers distinct talents and voices that will make Strange Closets a richer experience for readers."

Strange Closets will continue to publish original content such as:

-- Bi-weekly interviews with designers and artists. Past interviews
include Jayson Home & Garden's VP of Merchandising and Creative
Director Caroline Scheeler, Top Design Season One winner Matt Lorenz
and well-known artists Michael Thompson and Lucy Slivinski.
-- Weekly "Open House" home tours (every Thursday).
-- Continuing coverage of Chicago's best design shops and events.
-- Regular columns such as Design Rules, Trend Report and Strange Musings.

About:

After more than a decade in sales, Tate Gunnerson founded Strange Closets after realizing blogging provided an ideal vehicle to combine his interest in writing, photography and design. What began as a hobby morphed into a genuine passion, which prompted Gunnerson to leave sales to focus on building Strange Closets into a next-generation online home design publication. In addition to publishing Strange Closets, Gunnerson contributes to Chicago Home + Garden, CS Interiors and HealthDay.
