Response to "Zealous Person for Jehovah"
Zealous Person for Jehovah
EVERY single word of what Vincent K. Tylor wrote is true. In 1962, when I was 1 year old, my indoctrination by my newly converted parents began. I was forty years old before I could finally make a stand that I was no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
My husband and I were told not to have children when we married in 1982 "because Armageddon, the end time, was so close." This was broadcast at the giant district assemblies in sports arenas.
Thankfully Jehovah's Witnesses "insufficient light" did not lead to my death from wrong medical advice. I escaped ever having to need blood.
But I don't have any children. It's as if my children and now, my chance to be a grandparent, were stolen from me.
I feel very blessed to know that "The Truth SHALL Set You Free"; just not in the way their little blue book said it would.
Peace and Love,
Donna Belote Russell
