Cobra Unveils New Internet Radio Systems - Transforming the Way People Listen to Online Radio

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cobra Electronics (Nasdaq: COBR) announces the launch of its new Internet Radio line. Cobra's bookshelf radio units, the CIR1000A and CIR2000A, offer an innovative way to enjoy online broadcasts, offering superior sound quality and access to a variety of global broadcasts. The products wirelessly stream your online listening, letting you enjoy your favorite radio stations or podcasts free from the confines of your computer chair.

"Gone are the days of scratchy computer speakers," said Tony Mirabelli, senior vice president of marketing and sales. "The CIR1000A and CIR2000A will change the way people listen to online radio. Podcasts and online radio broadcasts have succeeded in making the radio relevant again -- and our new Internet Radio line connects listeners to radio in a way that is both nostalgic and groundbreaking."

The CIR1000A and CIR2000A provide access to an expanding network of over 10,000 online radio stations around the world. The unit receives and plays streaming Internet radio using built-in wireless technology and also supports MP3, WMA, and Real Media files via your wireless network. This gives listeners access to their computer's entire music library.

The CIR2000A, the premium unit in the series, features SD and USB slots for custom music inputs as well as a CD player with Gracenote(R) media database technology that recognizes album and artist information for each song. The unit also offers station presets for FM or Internet radio and a full-functioning remote control.

The CIR2000A features two ten-watt stand-alone stereo speakers and delivers sound quality unmatched by tinny computer speakers. The CIR1000A offers a smaller design with a four-watt built-in speaker. Listeners can tune-in to the newest Reggae beats straight fromJamaica, cheer along with their alma mater's football game or listen to the local news of a city halfway across the world without being bound to computer speakers or ear buds.

The CIR1000A and CIR2000A have a MSRP of $199.00 and $299.00 respectively and will be available in March 2009.
