Express Mail: The Royal Treatment for Three Kings Day

Priority Mail Also Available for Jan. 6 Delivery in Many Locations

WASHINGTON, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Three Kings Day gifts to family and friends will receive the royal treatment when shipped by the Postal Service's expedited package services: Express Mail and Priority Mail.

When using Express Mail, the Postal Service's premier service, gift packages are guaranteed for delivery in most parts of the country by the Tuesday, Jan. 6, holiday if shipped by Saturday, Jan. 3. Priority Mail delivers to most parts of the country in two to three days. Three Kings Day, also known as Epiphany or Dia de los Reyes (Day of the Kings), falls 12 days after Christmas and is widely celebrated with gift giving in Latino and Hispanic communities.

Express Mail is the perfect choice to deliver last-minute packages to family, friends and acquaintances on the holiday -- with a money-back delivery guarantee. Priority Mail offers speedy delivery and optional package tracking and Delivery Confirmation at a price less than overnight service. Both Express Mail and Priority Mail have flat-rate box and envelope options, allowing customers to send gifts for one set price, regardless of how much they weigh or how far they're going.

Unlike other shippers, the Postal Service (USPS) never imposes surcharges for fuel, for residential delivery, or for Saturday delivery. Other commercial carriers add Saturday or residential delivery fees that are often higher than the base price of shipping.

"Express Mail is the only overnight service that delivers 365 days a year at a competitive price with a guarantee, and Priority Mail is a great value, giving customers an appealing balance between speed and price," said USPS Expedited Shipping Vice President Gary Reblin. "The Postal Service is always ready to deliver for our customers on the holidays to make sure their gifts and packages arrive on time."

Customers save 3 percent on Express Mail and Priority Mail postage when shipping online at usps.com, where they also can print shipping labels and request that packages be picked up free of charge from their home or office by a USPS letter carrier.

Insurance up to $100 against loss or damage and Track & Confirm service are included free with Express Mail. Insurance is also available for Priority Mail for a nominal fee. All Express Mail and Priority Mail packaging is eco-friendly and available free at Post Offices nationwide or online at usps.com.

To ship internationally to more than 190 countries, customers can choose Global Express Guaranteed service for delivery in 1 to 3 business days, or Express Mail International service for delivery in 3 to 5 business days. Online savings through usps.com are 10 percent for Global Express Guaranteed and 8 percent for Express Mail International.

An independent federal agency, the U.S. Postal Service is the only delivery service that reaches every address in the nation, 146 million homes and businesses, six days a week. It has 37,000 retail locations and relies on the sale of postage, products and services, not tax dollars, to pay for operating expenses. The Postal Service has annual revenue of $75 billion and delivers nearly half the world's mail.
