Iraqi Shoe-Hurler Inspires Internet Shoe-hurling Games

"A shoe-throwing incident at an Iraqi news conference with George W. Bush has inspired a spate of Internet games where the players hurl footwear at moving targets of the U.S. president.

The games, which have mushroomed online and spread by email, range from animations to cut-up footage of the now-infamous news briefing on Sunday when an Iraqi reporter threw his shoes at the president who ordered the 2003 invasion of Iraq.

Pelting someone with shoes is considered a grave insult in the Arab world." Reuters UK/Lin Noueihed

The Iraqi shoe-hurler is a folk hero in the Arab world, his courageous action embodies the contempt that the Arab and Muslim nations feels for our disgraced president. If Bush ever dares visit an Arab country again he will have to bring with him a brigade of bodyguards to bat away the hundreds of shoes that will be hurled at him.

But there are also millions of Americans who wish they could hurl a dirty pair of sneakers at Bush. The line of people wishing to throw their shoes at Bush would stretch all the way from New Orleans to Mecca. Survivors of Hurricane Katrina, opponents of Bush's immoral wars, veterans languishing in dilapidated hospitals, folks who couldn't keep up with their house payment, the unemployed, all these groups and many more would love to pelt Bush with shoes.

And now we can hurl shoes at Bush, without getting arrested. I have played some of these shoe-throwing games online, and it's a great way of relieving stress. I urge Bush haters everywhere to play these games. Try this game and your blood pressure will come down to normal: http://bushbash.flashgressive.de/
