StillSecure Helps Department of Defense Detect and Defend Against Malware-Infected Detachable Hard Drives
Safe Access Utilizes "Scan-on-Connect" Technology With Customizable Scans to Provide Full-Spectrum Protection

StillSecure®, provider of secure network
infrastructure solutions, today announced that StillSecure Safe Access®
has been protecting Department of Defense (DoD) organizations against the
latest threat of malware that infects networks via fixed and removable
drives. Using "scan-on-connect" technology in Safe Access, the company's
award-winning NAC solution, DoD organizations can apply tests to ensure
endpoint devices are free from this most recent endpoint threat to the
Federal government.
Upon network connection, StillSecure's scan-on-connect technology
thoroughly evaluates an endpoint device's hard drive and removable media.
All fixed drives and removable drives (e.g. USBs, flash drives) can be
tested, and infected devices can be remediated or quarantined, if
necessary. Safe Access can also re-check devices after initial network
connection.
"StillSecure has grown its presence and reputation within the Federal
government because of their ability to provide immediate protection against
the latest threats," said Air Force Brigadier General James Miller, Jr.,
who retired after 30 years in the Air Force Intelligence community and
currently serves as Chairman of the StillSecure Federal Advisory Board.
"Their commitment to keeping the DoD secure is evident in their
fast-response to threats such as these."
"US Government systems are under attack," says Richard Stiennon, industry
analyst for IT-Harvest. "Heightened vigilance, including scanning USB
devices for malware, has to become standard practice."
Safe Access is currently deployed in three of the four military branches,
and some DoD organizations are already using the scan with Safe Access
scan-on-connect technology. Safe Access is available immediately from
StillSecure and authorized resellers. It is sold as both a software and
hardware appliance.
"With recent reports of high profile, nefarious attacks, national security
dictates that organizations identify and isolate systems that have been
infected," said Alan Shimel, Chief Strategy Officer of StillSecure. "When
network security pertains to our country's national security, it is
heartening to know that our Security Alert Team is doing its part to keep
us safe. Our Federal government customer base depends on our constant
vigilance."
