Chadbourne & Parke Expands Telecommunications Practice

James A. Stenger Named Counsel in Washington Office

NEW YORK, Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- The international law firm of Chadbourne & Parke LLP announced today that James A. Stenger has been named counsel at the Firm in its communications, media and technology practice. He will be based in the Firm'sWashington office.

Formerly with Thelen LLP, Mr. Stenger, 56, has represented clients before the Federal Communications Commission and handled transactions as well as administrative and court litigation involving FCC-regulated businesses. He also has extensive experience in all areas of FCC practice, including radio and television broadcasting; cable television; wireless telecommunications and spectrum auctions; domestic interstate and state telecommunications; and submarine cable, satellite and international telecommunications.

Mr. Stenger was with Thelen for five years. He began his career with a boutique firm that specialized in communications law and later joined theChicago general practice firm of Ross & Hardies. He was a partner at Ross & Hardies for 11 years.

Some of Mr. Stenger's representations include investment banks, fund managers and private investors in structuring their investments in a wide variety of FCC-regulated businesses; radio and television broadcasters in many purchases and sales of stations and in complying with evolving FCC rules including HDTV and HD radio; and wireless broadband, PCS and cellular companies in FCC license acquisitions, including wireless spectrum auctions, assignments and transfers of control, regulatory issues such as E911 and CPNI and interconnection agreements.

Mr. Stenger earned his J.D. (magna cum laude) from Georgetown University Law Center in 1978, and received a B.A. (with honors) in Economics and Politics from Glasgow University inScotland in 1975.
