UL Warns of Potentially Hazardous Holiday Decorative Outfits

NORTHBROOK, Ill., Dec. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Underwriters Laboratories (UL) is notifying consumers and retailers that lighted decorative outfits manufactured by Jian Lian Lighting Company do not comply with UL's safety requirements and may pose a risk of shock or fire.

This information was first reported in a previous UL public notice dated February 29, 2008.

    Units: Unknown quantity

    Name of Product: Model G22-6298

    Date of Manufacture: December 2006 to present

    Manufacturer: Jian Lian Lighting Co. Ltd.

Hazard: These products may overheat, creating a potential risk of electric shock and fire to users.

Identification: On the product: The cord has a white tag with the following information:

    Model G22-6298 (0.17A)
    E252974
    Made in China

The cord also has a UL holographic label consisting of the UL Mark and the following information:


    Decorative Outfit
    Issue No.: 40,088

Identification: On the packaging: The packaging displays the UL Mark for the United States and provides the following information:

    Sylvania
    Frosty Dangler
    Lighted Hanging Silhouette

What you should do: UL recommends that users stop using the product immediately and return the decorative outfit to the place of purchase.
